WASHINGTON, DC – C-SPAN is scheduled to air a 30-minute program featuring George Washington’s Distillery and the Founding Father’s role as an early American distiller, according to the Distilled Spirits Council.
C-SPAN’s American History TV visited Mount Vernon during an apple brandy distilling event sponsored by the Distilled Spirits Council in October. Viewers will learn about 18th-century distilling processes from Mount Vernon Vice President for Preservation Dennis Pogue, living history interpreter Steve Bashore, and master distiller David Pickerell.
The program will air on Thanksgiving Day on C-SPAN3 at Noon and 8:00 PM eastern time. The program is also scheduled to run Christmas Day on C-SPAN3 at 8:00 AM, 7:00 PM and 10:00 PM eastern time.
