COVID-19 UPDATES

We continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all participants. Your safety is our highest priority, and we will continue to monitor all CDC, state and local guidelines leading up to the event. DISCUS 2022 Annual Conference attendees agree to abide by and engage in certain safe and healthy conduct while attending the event.

For the health and safety of our attendees we have expanded our protocol:

  • Upon arrival attendees will be obligated to show proof of COVID Vaccine or a valid negative COVID-19 PCR test (within 72 hours) or negative Rapid test (within 24 hours) result.
  • DISCUS staff in attendance will all be vaccinated
  • Masks will be provided to attendees, and we recommend they be worn throughout the conference
  • Physical distancing will be encouraged
  • Proper hand sanitizer stations and hand sanitizer will be provided

What are the safety precautions in place at the conference?

We have put the following safety protocols in place to provide a safe conference experience for our attendees and staff:

  • N95 masks will be available at registration and throughout the conference.
  • You may also bring your own mask or facial covering.
  • Personal-sized hand sanitizer that contains the recommended percentage of isopropyl alcohol will be supplied to all guests.
  • Hand sanitizer stations will be positioned throughout the meeting space.

As a reminder, if you are experiencing any of the following symptoms, please do not attend the DISCUS 2022 Annual Conference:

  • Fever
  • Temperature over 100.4 F
  • Loss of taste or smell
  • Dry cough
  • Runny nose
  • Sore throat

Given COVID-19, why not have a virtual option?

At this point, we are moving forward with an in-person conference. However, if circumstances dictate, we will be ready to transition to a virtual format. We are actively working with the Hyatt Regency to ensure proper cleaning measures, social distancing and hygiene protocols are followed, along with ensuring masks and hand sanitizer are available for all attendees.

Will masks be mandated? 

Masks will be encouraged and readily available throughout the event for all attendees and staff.

Can I provide electronic proof of vaccination instead of my actual card?

Electronic proof of vaccination will be accepted at registration. Either a picture or a digital app such as the Clear app pass.

What should I wear to the DISCUS Annual Conference?

We recommend wearing business casual attire and comfortable shoes. Presenters typically dress more formally. Meeting rooms are often cool, so layered clothing is recommended. June temperatures in New Orleans are typically in the low 90s° F during the day, and mid 70s°F in the evening.

Will there be internet access at the conference?

There will be complimentary Wi-Fi in the meeting spaces. Information about the network and password will be provided to all attendees on-site.

Is there a meeting app?

Yes, included with your registration is access to the DISCUS 2022 Annual Conference app, which will be housed within the Cvent mobile app.

The app contains a fully searchable schedule of events, list of program participants, abstracts, maps, exhibit information, and more.

As a registered attendee, you will be able to create an account on the Conference Platform that allows you to select events to build your own personal schedule, making it easy to prioritize your time by planning your activities in advance.

The DISCUS 2022 Annual Conference event app will be available shortly before the beginning of the conference.

To use the DISCUS 2022 Annual Conference event app, you must first have the Cvent mobile app installed on your device. Cvent mobile is available free from both Google Play and Apple app stores. Information on how to access the DISCUS 2022 Annual Conference app will be emailed to all registrants shortly before the meeting.

Do I need to be a member to attend?

No, you do not need to be a member of DISCUS to attend. Everyone with an interest in the fields of Distilled Spirits is welcome to attend. There are registration categories for members and non-members.

What meals are included with registration?

A Casual Networking Lunch with Cocktail Trivia will be hosted in the tradeshow, buffet style, on June 8th. Programed breaks will be available for all registered attendees during the days of June 8th and June 9th. The Opening Reception on the evening of June 8th, open to all registered attendees, will feature complimentary hors d’oeuvres and refreshments. The After Parties in the late evening of June 8th and June 9th, will feature New Orleans style late night bites and specialty cocktails and mocktails. A Continental Breakfast and Bloody Mary Bar in the morning on June 9th. The Awards Lunch in the afternoon of June 9th, will include a plated meal. The reception on June 9th, will feature fun appetizers and refreshing cocktails to prepare for the exciting New Orleans Second Line Parade down Bourbon St.

Can I register on-site? Is there a cut-off date to pre-register?

Yes, please visit the on-site DISCUS Registration Desk in the Celestial Foyer (on the 3rd floor) of the Hyatt Regency. However, it is highly recommended to register online prior to attending. Early Bird registration will remain open until March 31, 2022. Regular registration will remain open until May 27, 2022. There will be a higher fee for late registration and on-site registration.

Where and when can I pick up my registration materials?

Beginning on Wednesday, June 8th at 7:30 am, attendees who are registered can pick up registration materials at the DISCUS Registration Desk in the Celestial Foyer (on the 3rd floor) of the Hyatt Regency.

What is the cancellation/refund policy?

Registration cancellations must be emailed to [email protected] by May 27, 2022. You will be charged a $100 fee for cancellation. After May 27, 2022, no refunds will be possible.
