WASHINGTON – The Distilled Spirits Council of the United States (DISCUS) will host a webinar on the topic of direct-to-consumer shipping of spirits on Wednesday, May 12, at 12 p.m. (Eastern).

Consumer buying habits have changed dramatically in a short period of time. The increased demand for convenience, accelerated by the pandemic, is driving consumer interest in direct-to-consumer shipping of many products in the marketplace – and distilled spirits are no exception.

DISCUS and other industry leaders will discuss how expanding distillers’ ability to direct ship spirits to adult consumers will serve as an additional market access channel that will aid struggling businesses, increase consumer convenience and strengthen the three-tier system.

Presenters:

  • Christine LoCascio (Moderator), Chief of Public Policy, DISCUS
  • Philip McDaniel, CEO and Co-Founder, St. Augustine Distillery; Chairman, DISCUS Craft Advisory Council
  • Erik Owens, President, American Distilling Institute (ADI)
  • John Beaudette, President and Founder, MHW, Ltd.
