WASHINGTON, DC – The Distilled Spirits Council of the United States (DISCUS) today announced the appointment of Kristi Brown as Senior Director for State Government Relations. Kristi will take over lobbying activity in the central region states previously managed by DISCUS Vice President of State Government Relations Dale Szyndrowski, who has announced his retirement.

Kristi most recently served as Senior Director of Government Affairs for the Kansas Chamber of Commerce. Prior to that role, she was the Director of Government Relations for American Medical Response where she managed state and local government relations activities for the 15 states in the southern region.  A graduate of University of Memphis, Kristi also spent more than 12 years working in state government affairs positions and managing local political campaigns in Tennessee.

“Kristi brings to DISCUS more than 20 years of experience lobbying on state issues in Kansas, Colorado, Missouri, Texas, Tennessee, and other states across the southern region,” said Christine LoCascio, DISCUS Chief of Public Policy. “Kristi’s professional background and familiarity with the legislative landscape in these key states will help ensure that laws and regulations impacting the distilled spirits industry in the central region are fair and equitable.”

LoCascio stated that Dale Szyndrowski, who plans to retire September 15 after more than 30 years at DISCUS, will continue to serve as a consultant to assist government relations activities in Texas.
