The Distilled Spirits Council of the United States (DISCUS) today announced the appointment of Natalie Strong as the organization’s Communications Manager on its public affairs and communications team.
In her new role at the Council, Strong will participate in media relations and special events that focus on spirits trends, industry heritage and providing industry data to the media.
Strong most recently served as communications specialist for Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue in Atlanta. During her three-year tenure in Governor Perdue’s office, Strong acted as spokesperson for First Lady Mary Perdue and assistant to the Governor’s Press Secretary, serving as a liaison between the Governor’s office and national and international media.
“Natalie is a welcome addition to the DISCUS public affairs team. Her media relations and state government expertise will play major role in helping promote spirits trends and industry heritage,” said Distilled Spirits Council Senior Vice President Frank Coleman.
In addition to her position in Governor Perdue’s office, Strong was active in national marketing and promoting campaigns as a former cheerleader for the Atlanta Falcons. Prior to her role in the Governor’s office, she was employed with Turner Broadcasting in Atlanta. Strong is a native of Memphis, TN and a graduate of Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. She currently resides in Washington, D.C.
