Kate comes to DISCUS with over 10 years of event planning experience. Prior to joining DISCUS, Kate capitalized on her extensive career in event planning to consult local nonprofit organizations, like Global Camps Africa and the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation, on managing their annual fundraising events, while also planning community events such as the DC Bike Ride and Washington Kastles Tennis Tournament. Before her freelance career, Kate was the in-house event manager for the American Lung Association, the Transplant Foundation, and the National Kidney Foundation. Outside of the nonprofit world, Kate has also planned corporate events for Zumba Fitness, Marcus Evans and Prime Education. Kate graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a B.S. in Psychology and Africana Studies.
