Chief of Communications and Branding
A strategic communications expert with over 20 years experience, Leslie Kimball leads the communications and branding teams for both DISCUS and Responsibility.org, overseeing a broad portfolio that includes the organizations’ brand strategy, reputation management, executive communications, strategic messaging, public affairs, publications, marketing strategy, creative content and digital presence.
Before assuming her role as Chief, Leslie led Responsibility.org’s educational programs and communications initiatives, including traditional and social media strategy and implementation, advertising, and strategic partnership engagement. Leslie oversaw the successful rebranding of the organization in 2015 as well as the organization’s 20th Anniversary celebration in 2011. She is proud of all of Responsibility.org’s award winning programs, but Ask, Listen, Learn’s substance, message and role models will always hold a special place in her heart. She’s produced and distributed over 150 PSAs to fight underage drinking. She enjoys working with parenting influencers and is proud to see more parents engaging in conversation about underage drinking with their children; she was the spark behind Responsibility.org’s #TalkEarly campaign.
Leslie previously worked in Communications and External Affairs at The Brookings Institution. She and her husband live in Washington, DC, with their daughter and son. She serves as the Vice Chair of Best Buddies Capital Region and on the Advisory Board of her children’s school.
Leslie’s favorite drink? Bombay Sapphire and tonic with a lime twist.
