Ted Huber

Ted Huber is master distiller of the Starlight Distillery and head winemaker for Huber Winery located in southern Indiana.  Ted holds the position of President and is co-owner of the parent company Huber’s Orchard, Winery, and Vineyards along with his first cousin, Greg Huber.  Ted represents the sixth generation of this family owned business that was founded by Simon Huber of Baden, Baden Germany in 1843.  Ted is past Chairman of the Small Distiller Membership of the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States (DISCUS).  

Since 1843, this business has grown and diversified into one of the largest agritourism businesses in the Midwest.  The traditional practices passed on by Simon Huber are still used today.  Last year, Huber’s hosted over 600,000 guests to their 700 acre property.  The Starlight Distillery continues the distillation techniques passed down from one generation to another.  Their mission is simple:  To produce small batch, hand crafted, distilled spirits of high quality.  

Ted is married to Dana, they have two children- Christian, 25, who joined the family business in December of 2017 after graduating from Niagara Collage in Canada with a degree in Viticulture & Enology and Blake, 22, who recently graduated from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York with a degree in viticulture, winemaking, & distillation through the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences.
