Fire Protection Practices for Distilled Spirits Facilities

The Recommended Fire Code Protection Practices for Distilled Spirits Beverage Facilities is a voluntary guide for application primarily to new installations of distilled spirits production plants, including storage and warehouse facilities.  The document is designed to provide a reasonable degree of protection from fire based on sound engineering principles, test data and field experience.

Some key topics covered include: distillery processes; fire protection mechanisms; barrel warehouses; alcohol handling; electrical engineering; maintenance and inspection procedures; and emergency planning. Purchase includes both a digital and print copy of the guide. Current members of the Distilled Spirits Council receive the publication free of charge as a benefit of membership.
