DISCUS Hosts Free Legal Webinar For Distillers June 12
“The Impact of COVID-19 on Existing Contracts – Is Performance Still Required?”
WASHINGTON – The Distilled Spirits Council of the United States (DISCUS) is hosting a free legal webinar for distillers exploring the impact of COVID-19 on existing contracts and obligations on Friday, June 12, 1-2 p.m. EST.
“As spirits companies grapple with the necessary adjustments to operate during the pandemic, it’s important to reassess contractual rights and obligations including the oft-overlooked ‘force majeure’ or ‘act of God’ clause,” said Courtney Armour, DISCUS chief legal officer. “During this program, seasoned commercial litigators will discuss whether force majeure clauses justify the suspension of performance of a party’s duties under the contract.”
Guest speakers include Victor Jih and Eli B. Richlin, partners with Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, who have extensive experience in a wide range of complex commercial litigation matters.
