DISCUS Annual Conference

June 8-10, 2022

New Orleans, LA

The DISCUS Annual conference is the premier industry event for America’s spirits industry leaders, decision makers and supply chain partners. Spirits executives and industry stakeholders will share their ideas to drive innovation and decide the future of our sector. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear the latest on mission-critical policies, connect with spirits business executives at networking events, learn from industry thought leaders and walk away with tangible insights to boost your business.

Public Policy Conference

More than 200 participants from 40 states and multiple countries joined the 2021 DISCUS-ACSA Public Policy Conference in September 2021 to advocate on key industry objectives. In more than 130 meetings with members of Congress and staff, attendees urged members of Congress to:

  1. support the need for additional COVID-19 relief funding through the RESTAURANTS Act and Fairness for Craft Beverage Producers Act;
  2. urge the Administration to work with the EU and UK to secure the return to duty-free trade in distilled spirits; and
  3. support legislation to enable the U.S. Postal Service to ship beverage alcohol, where permitted by state law.

Attendees also had the opportunity to engage with senior Alcohol, Tobacco, Tax & Trade (TTB) officials, and hear from Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-OR) and Senator Todd Young (R-IN) on issues affecting the industry. An educational panel on direct to consumer (DTC) shipping of spirits also was also held, which focused on the compliance mechanisms in place to ensure responsible delivery, as well as strict adherence to all applicable federal and state laws.

We are appreciative of all the distillers that took time to advocate on behalf of the industry. We look forward to our 2022 Public Policy Conference – more information is forthcoming in early 2022.
